Extremely good. Whether you’re just diving in to see what it’s all about or you’re a veteran of Call of Duty: Black Ops, you won’t find a better online multiplayer game in the PlayStation 3 library. From the beginning to the end of the online campaign, the multiplayer experience is consistently one of the most intense on the system.
The cooperative levels in Black Ops are some of the best levels I’ve ever seen in a game. The amount of work that went into them is clear to see. You’re not going to find a better squad-based shooter in the current console cycle. The core game engine is solid, while the customization options are extensive. And even if you’ve already played Black Ops online, a couple of its multiplayer maps will stand up to the competition.
Black Ops is a really fun game for all of your friends. Two of them really, I mean, the game’s a lot of fun for yourself too, but four players playing together is what I’d say makes it a unique multiplayer experience. You really get the feeling like you’re a part of a family or a team, like a group of people who just want to play together.
Guns blazing, controller held tight, you’re ready to rumble with the best of the best. You’re a Call of Duty rookie, ready to finally get your first taste of action in one of the world’s greatest online shooters. Before you jump in, just remember this: this is a multiplayer game. It’s not a standalone experience like the single player games. It’s a multiplayer game, so it only makes sense that you’d expect to play through online or play the single player campaign as a challenge mode.
